Greetings!
Join us for our last ArtWalk’s of the season!  Both of our featured artists are masters of their respective mediums and highly regarded teachers.

In Crested Butte, Don Sahli will be in the gallery on Thursday, September 26th from 5-8p.m. for the last ArtWalk of the season.  Join us to meet this outstanding painter who was the last apprentice for the famous Russian colorist, Sergei Bongart.  Sahli creates his images with dramatic and subtle use of color. His paintings are filled with the contrasts of heavy textured brushstrokes to soft fluid washes. And while Sahli’s work can be seen as traditional with old world qualities that come from his background in the Russian School of Painting, it can also be seen as modern and contemporary.  To view Don’s available paintings, click here.

Views of Lone Cone Mountain Exhibition By Meredith Nemirov

In Telluride, Meredith Nemirov will be sharing a new series of watercolor paintings entitled “Views of Lone Cone”.  Well known within the region, Meredith is one of the San Juan’s more accomplished watercolorists.

The Lone Cone peak is a local landmark in San Miguel County, stands alone, and is the western-most of the major peaks in the San Juan Mountains.  Meredith started this series after receiving an Artist Fellowship grant from Telluride Arts to study Japanese Woodblock printmaking.

Of the series Meredith states: “these paintings were a way for me to ‘learn the mountain’, discover it’s contours, forms and what it looks like from various locations. They are not preparatory in the sense that I ‘copied’ them to make the prints, but they are essential to the series that came after. They stand alone as a series of paintings of a particular place or subject that is part of my landscape.”

Please join us for ArtWalk to see these paintings in person.  To view Meredith’s available paintings, click here.
