Colorado Home Prices Rising at Fastest Rate in Country

Colorado Home Prices Rising at Fastest Rate in Country. Colorado has always been a desirable state to live in, and home prices are trending in an upward direction according to results from the CoreLogic HomePrice Index released last spring. According to the article, Colorado home prices increased faster than those in any other state in the country. Between February 2014 and February 2015 the Centennial State saw a 9.8 percent increase in home prices and the trend doesn’t look to be stopping anytime soon.

“This is the hottest home-price appreciation prior to the spring-selling season in nine years,” says Anand Nallathambi, president and CEO of CoreLogic.

While prices are increasing statewide, the highest increase was in the Denver-Aurora metro at an incredible 11.1 percent last year. Homes at the lower end of the market are increasing their value faster than those at the top of the market, but in general, all home values in Colorado are on the rise… and they are rising in a hurry. Home values in a handful of other states – mostly those with oil and gas industry influences – are also increasing, but the rest of the country is apparently not headed in the same direction. Home values in most American states remain below the peak prices from over a decade ago. At least for now, Colorado tops the list for the highest value increases in homes.
