Greetings!
Please take a moment to consider a significant new plein air event, the Crested Butte Plein Air Invitational, hosted by the Oh-Be-Joyful Gallery. Forty five professional plein air painters will be visiting Crested Butte to paint in paradise for a week this July. A large gala exhibition follows in the gallery and an outdoor tent, opening July 15. As many as 400 fresh paintings made around Crested Butte will be for sale. Paintings may be previewed at 8am online the day of the opening. Preview phone sales can be arranged for Patron and Emeritus sponsors. This invitational has one of the best participating artist lists of any plein air event occurring in 2011, and is sponsored by Southwest Art Magazine. Please check the event website,

The website for the Crested Butte Plein Air Invitational is up and running! Check the site for up to the moment information about the schedule of events, workshops, participating artists, and visitor information. Images of all paintings created during the event will be available in an online preview Friday, July 15th at 8am. There are many fun ways for patrons to participate in the Crested Butte Plein Air Invitational. At last summer's plein air event, Rhonda McCay hosted several artists and even let one paint her portrait (pictured above)! Portrait sittings aside, we have several excitings ways to interact with our visiting artists. There are Artist Sponsorship and Hosting opportunities, as well as an exclusive Patrons' Preview.
