Week 3 of FRESH FALL ART highlights the art of Nicholas Reti, who is announcing that he is now an official resident of Crested Butte! Nicholas found his dream studio, with a magnificent view of the Slate River, which is sure to inspire the creation of many splendid paintings. Please join me in welcoming Nicholas! His two new paintings pictured below exemplify his talent in capturing the dramatic elements of the landscape & weather in Crested Butte, don't you agree? I have also included a whimsical photo of Nicholas during our plein aire festival last July. That's a typical attitude for him...Mr. Sunshine! Here's what he said about his move:
"For four years I have been painting the landscapes around CB. The endless compositions of mountains, town, wildflowers, weather and fall foliage are enough to keep a painter busy for a lifetime! Moving to CB will make more accessible the landscapes that I've been drawn to for years. The dramatic light, weather, color, seasons fascinate me and will continue to challenge me for years to come. The people of CB appreciate the raw beauty of the landscape and have proven to be a receptive audience, which is a feature I couldn't appreicate more."
I have chosen Nicholas as my featured artist for this week's email, as his awe of the incredible beauty surrounding Crested Butte echos my own delight in discovering "paradise" this summer. I too, have been captivated by the magic and mystery of this area, especially the creativity and resourcefulness of everyone I have met. I have accepted Shaun's offer to work at OBJG year round, and am excited to be returning for the winter season. Thanks to the many clients and community members who have made me feel welcome. I appreciate your patronage and look forward to working with you all!
